Dive into a whole new world beneath the waves with Island Watersports Hawaii’s *Submersible Scooter Tour*! Located in scenic Maunalua Bay near Waikiki, this experience lets you glide effortlessly through the water on your own underwater scooter — no scuba certification or prior experience needed.

Your adventure begins aboard a spacious 50-foot catamaran as you cruise to the dive site surrounded by Oahu’s spectacular coastal views. After a short briefing, your guide will lead you through clear tropical waters teeming with vibrant coral reefs, colorful fish, and graceful green sea turtles.

Each sub stays just 7–8 feet below the surface — shallower than the deep end of a pool — and is safely tethered to a floating buoy. After your 20-minute scooter session, enjoy time to swim, snorkel, or relax on the catamaran’s sunny deck before heading back to shore.

    Driving Directions:
    From Waikiki, drive to the H-1 East Freeway. Once the freeway ends it becomes HI-72 (Kalanianaole Highway). Keep driving east until you arrive at the Koko Marina Shopping Center in Hawaii Kai. Turn left into the shopping center before the Texaco gas station. You may park free anywhere in the shopping center. The check-in office is behind Jamba Juice and adjacent to Kona Brewing Company restaurant.

  • Restrictions:

    Participants must be at least 4'0" (122 cm) in height, but less than 6'8" (203 cm) and have no medical conditions.
    Weight limit: 350 lbs (158 kg)
    Children must be at least 10 years old.

  • Special Notes:

    The underwater scooter works on the bell theory. Remember back in science class when you would turn a glass upside down in a bucket of water and no water would enter the glass? The scooter is based on the same concept. As you descend, a seal is formed so you are dry inside the bubble. It's amazing!
