Hawaiian Watersports is the only official IKO kiteboarding center on Oahu, providing certified instructors to ensure a safe, structured, and enjoyable learning experience. No prior experience is necessary — all you need is the ability to swim and a sense of adventure!
During this introductory lesson, you’ll learn essential kiteboarding techniques including safety procedures, wind theory, equipment setup, and launching and landing. You’ll then move on to piloting a modern 4-line kite and practicing body dragging in the water. Once you’ve mastered these basics, you’ll be ready to progress to standing up and riding on the board.

This is an intro kitesurfing lesson, which is focused mostly on theory and less on actual kitesurfing in the ocean. Realistically, to be up and kitesurfing in the open ocean, it takes several lessons and practice.
